A space designed for connection, collaboration, and getting things done.
We’re a locally run business based in Mooloolaba, offering flexible, professional spaces for meetings, workshops, and everything in between. Whether you’re a solo operator or a growing team, our spaces are designed to make your time here seamless, productive, and enjoyable.
Matt & Jess Barmentloo are the founders of Salty Spaces, a coworking community on the Sunshine Coast that brings together entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals.
They created Salty Spaces to be more than just a place to work, it’s designed to inspire productivity through natural light, greenery, and a vibrant setting by the water. The space reflects Matt’s belief that work should feel enjoyable and energising, with an atmosphere that encourages both focus and connection.
Outside of Salty Spaces, they enjoy family life with their two young kids, and their Groodle.
Matt is the founder of Salty Spaces and the visionary behind the space. With a background as a CFO and business founder, he has spent more than a decade supporting businesses and building ventures across finance, startups and community initiatives. He focuses on long term strategy, community building and creating inspiring environments where entrepreneurs can thrive.
Matt is also actively involved in the local business community as President of the Sunshine Coast Young Chamber of Commerce, bringing strong connections and leadership into the heart of Salty Spaces.
Jess is the heart behind the experience at Salty Spaces. With a natural strength in systems, organisation and creating welcoming environments, she ensures the space runs smoothly while keeping the community feel strong.
Jess cares deeply about the details, from how the space functions day to day to how members feel when they walk through the door, helping make Salty Spaces both professional and genuinely warm.
Jen is our Community Manager at Salty Spaces and the friendly face that keeps the space energised and connected. She brings warmth, organisation and genuine care to the member experience, ensuring everyone feels welcomed and supported from day one.
Jen helps coordinate daily operations, events and member touchpoints, playing a key role in maintaining the vibrant, professional community that makes Salty Spaces special.
At Salty Spaces, we’ve created a welcoming environment where people can connect, focus, and enjoy the benefits of a thoughtfully designed workspace. Located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, the space combines comfort, productivity, and a relaxed coastal feel to make every workday more enjoyable.
Salty Spaces was born from a vision to create a workspace that feels inspiring and productive, while reflecting the laid-back spirit of the Sunshine Coast. With natural light, greenery, and a vibrant waterside location, it’s a place where work flows and connections come naturally.
At Salty Spaces, every detail of our coworking experience is designed with care, right down to the water our members drink. That’s why we’ve partnered with Aqua Ubique, whose MG10 machines turn air into fresh, clean, mineral-balanced water.
For our community, this means limited plastic bottles, no deliveries, and no waste, just safe, great-tasting water on tap whenever you need it. But the impact doesn’t stop at our doors.
Through Aqua Ubique’s Drop4Drop initiative, each machine also funds the installation of clean water technology in communities facing long-term water insecurity. Recently, this helped provide a brand-new MG10 at Ny-Ku Byun Elders Village in Cherbourg, QLD, giving local residents a reliable, sustainable source of safe drinking water every day.
For us, it’s simple: every sip at Salty Spaces is part of a bigger story. When you work here, you’re not only fuelling your own productivity, you’re also supporting clean water access for others.
Join us at Salty Spaces and become part of a community that nurtures growth, fosters connections, and empowers you to achieve your goals. Together, let’s create, collaborate, and make waves in the world of business!
